Lack of good quality sleep can affect the immune system and take a serious toll on a mental, physical, and emotional health.
A recent national survey conducted by Duroflex, highlighted a key but disturbing fact that 75% of the Indians state that they do not get quality sleep every night. The cause for disturbed sleep can be listed down due to several factors but some strong points include the kind of room setting, stress-free life and most importantly, a good mattress. The survey conducted over digital platforms collected responses from over 1 lakh consumers from across India.

The survey was conducted to better understand the sleep habits of the consumer. Some interesting findings were that 20% of participants believe that a dark and quiet room is the key to good sleep and 45% of participants believe that no stress is the key to good sleep.

However, the one factor which stood out was that 35% of participants believe that a good quality mattress is the key to good sleep. However, in spite of these findings, today, about 60% of India still continue to sleep on unbranded mattresses or mattresses from local brands that more often than not are made from poor quality materials that do not meet their need for comfort.

    What bad sleep can do
Today, with the pace at which consumers live their life, good sleep is more important than ever before. Lack of good quality sleep can affect the immune system and take a serious toll on a mental, physical, and emotional health.

Interestingly, not every mattress is considered the best for a good night’s sleep. Supporting this fact, 40% of respondents are of the view that not all foam mattresses are orthopaedic certified mattresses. However, considering the high rate of respondents suffering from lack of quality sleep, shows that consumers still buy mattresses which are not certified.

Subsequently, today consumers being tech-savvy are well informed on making the right choices, thus 68% of participants would go for a doctor-recommended mattress.
