    ESSCI and BlueTown join hands to develop connectivity solutions

    NEW DELHI: The Electronic Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI) has joined hands with Copenhagen-headquartered technology startup BlueTown ApS to develop connectivity solutions for rural areas.
    The venture will create 1 million jobs in the country, the entities said in joint statement on Thursday. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by ESSCI chief executive NK Mohapatra and BlueTown India country head SN Gupta.

    “This MoU reiterates the need for skilled resources in the country and is a great opportunity for rural entrepreneurship,” Mohapatra said. “ESSCI will extend the best of support through its public private ecosystem set up by National Skill Development Corporation to ensure the right skills in rural entrepreneurs to achieve success through innovation.”

    ESSCI and BlueTown will jointly work for mapping skills requirements of BlueTown and upgrade its existing portfolio of national occupational standard (NOS) to suit this requirement. BlueTown will help ESSCI nurture talent to enable them to become entrepreneurs.
