Lindstrom India expands Kolkata operations

KOLKATA: Lindström India, a 100% subsidiary of the Finnish Lindström Oy, an organized workwear service company, has just expanded the workwear service unit in Kolkata to serve the growing demand of the services in east India coming from metal industry, food and fisheries industry, pharmaceuticals, healthcare & hospitality industry.
Inaugurating the new service unit, Juha Laurio, President & CEO, Lindstrom Group stated, "It's been commendable the way India market is shaping up for Lindstrom Oy. Kolkata has been a strategic choice for us. Given our vision of 2020, we are making headway and achieving the right milestones here in India."

The new business unit in Kolkata has resulted in a 100% capacity expansion to take care of the growing demand coming from the eastern region.

Anupam Chakrabarty, Senior Vice President, Asia, Lindstrom Group opined, “India is very important market for Lindstrom group and we have been operating in this country for more than 12 years now and have expanded our operations to cover almost the entire geography of India. Last year, we also launched India’s first Cleanroom Workwear Services in Pune to cater to the growing hygiene needs of the pharmaceutical industry in India. With our high growth rate in India, we as a group are happy to continue to invest in expanding our operations in the future as well.”

Jayant Roy, MD, India, stated, "We continue to make waves in the industry. With this launch, we now have 11 workwear business units and 1 cleanroom business unit in India with a capacity to process more than 3 million garments per month. With this expansion in Kolkata, we are now able to cater to the growing needs for our services in the Eastern parts of India. "
