    FMCG & pharma packs supplier Parksons acquires Manohar Packaging

    Warburg Pincus-backed Parksons Packaging has acquired a majority stake in Manohar Packaging, which makes folding cartons for the premium alcoholic beverages and confectionery segments, the company announced Monday.
    The statement called the deal one of the largest in the paper packaging industry, but did not mention the financials of the transaction. It added that Manohar Packaging is a leading manufacturer of carton packs and industry leader in the alcoholic beverages segment.

    According to the statement, Parksons, founded in 1996, is the largest independent producer of folding cartons in India, has six manufacturing plants, and supplies to fast moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, retail and electronics in domestic as well as international markets.

    Parksons Packaging managing director Siddharth Kejriwal said the deal strengthens the company’s presence in the foods and beverages segment and increases its footprint in North and West India.
