“Naresh, Umang and Vikrant have all worked in Dhruve Liladhar & Co in the past, and I was glad to see how they set up a firm like Taurus Legal in such a short time,” said Chandubhai Mehta, managing partner of Dhruve Liladhar & Co (DLC). “With them and their respective associates joining our Firm, we will be expanding our existing litigation, arbitration, IBC, conveyancing and admiralty practice.”

An alumnus of Government Law College, Naresh Chheda is also a Solicitor from the Bombay Incorporated Law Society and practices litigation Real estate laws and Pharma laws. While, Umang Mehta, an alumnus of Brunell University London, predominantly practices corporate and commercial litigation and Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC). Vikrant Shetty is also an alumnus of the Government Law College from the 2005 batch and specializes in Maritime Law, Arbitration and commercial litigation.

According to Aneesh Patnaik, VP of litigation and practice acquisition advisory at legal and governance executive search firm Vahura, a merger between a legacy firm and a new firm creates unique synergy, especially in litigation and dispute resolution advisory. “A conventional firm gets to enter into new practice areas very rapidly, and the new firm gets leverage of older firm’s equity,” adds Patnaik.
