In keeping with recent trends, Reliance Jio and its rival Airtel have again come up with tweaks in prepaid packs. The changes are designed to benefit subscribers who are working from home.

Under the new modifications, the validity periods of Jio's 4G vouchers have been extended. Airtel, on its part, has doubled the amount of data in one of its plans, besides raising talk time for a number of select prepaid plans.

The Jio vouchers were launched as part of its work-from-home plans that were introduced when the pan-India virus lockdown was first put in place. Airtel's new tweak — the doubling of data of its Rs 98 prepaid pack — comes on the heels of a similar recent move made by rival Vodafone.

Here's a closer look at the new tweaks:

    Jio
Till now, these Jio vouchers didn’t come with any validity and were subject to the validity period of the existing prepaid plans. After the upgrade, they will now have a 30-day validity.

According to reports, Jio work-from-home plans will now be valid for 30 days, regardless of the validity of the existing prepaid plan.

These 4G vouchers are for Rs 151, Rs 201 and Rs 251 — the first one offers 30GB total data, the second one 40GB and the the last one, 50GB.

    Airtel
Airtel doubled data benefits on its 28-day, Rs 98 top-up pack — taking the amount of data offered to 12GB from 6GB. Its validity will remain the same.

Besides, the talk times of some of Airtel's other prepaid plans were also increased. The Rs 500 voucher will now give you a talk time of Rs 480 in place of Rs 423.73 earlier.

The Rs 1,000 one, which previously offered talk time worth Rs 847.46, now gives you Rs 960.

For the Rs 5,000 voucher, talk time has been raised to Rs 4,800 from Rs 4,237 earlier.
