    Go First airline's Twitter handle hacked

    Synopsis

    ​​​ The airline's handle tweeted the lines such as "Amazing" and "Great Job" at around 8.25 pm on Monday.

    The Twitter handle of Low fare carrier Go First airline was hacked on Monday, informed the airline in a media statement.

    “GO FIRST would like to inform you that the airline's official Twitter account has been compromised,” the airline said in a statement.

    “All the concerned teams are investigating the matter to restore and gain control at the earliest. Our team is working closely with Twitter to address the issue,” it added.

    Last year, a data breach at Air India compromised the data of 4.5 million customers. This happened after a hacking attack on Air India's passenger service system provider SITA.

    Last month, the official Twitter account of the Prime Minister’s office was brieflh hacked. A tweet was sent from the handle that ran thus: “India has officially adopted bitcoin as legal tender. The government has officially bought 500 BTC and is distributing them to all residents of the country”. It was soon restored and a probe launched.

    In 2017, Go First’s rival low fare carrier IndiGo’s Twitter handle was hacked.
