    IT job hiring leads strong growth in metro cities: SCIKEY Market Network

    India’s IT sector is experiencing a sequential growth in hiring since the lockdown in 2020. Job postings have seen a significant rise in several metro cities including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi accounting for more than 50% jobs in the sector in the month of January 2021 as per SCIKEY Market Network. Maximum demand in IT Jobs was recorded in the month of January with 39%, followed by BPO 10% and Banking 6%.

    Research data from SCIKEY reveals that Bangalore and Hyderabad are the highest paying cities for IT Jobs in India for the salary bracket of Rs 25 lakh or more. Moreover, Bangalore tops the charts for salary bracket for less than Rs 6 lakh and between Rs 6 to 15 lakh. SCIKEY research data further highlighted the demand for IT job roles in India including Project manager contributed to 47% jobs, Developer contributed to 70% jobs, Software Tester contributed to 66% jobs, Consultant contributed to 41% jobs and Digital Marketing contributed to 30% jobs in IT alone in comparison to rest of the sectors in India.

    SCIKEY research data indicated that Project Managers are highly in demand in the IT (47%) industry followed by Construction (6%), Banking (4%) and Recruitment (3%). Developers are also highly in demand with 70% and Software Tester also highly in demand in the IT industry with 65%. Furthermore, Consultants contribute to 40% in the IT sector followed by Healthcare and Medical contribute to 11% whereas recruitment and BPO contribute to 7% and 5% respectively. Digital marketing (30%) is also one of the top roles for hiring as compared to other industries.
