A powerful eulogy: Amitabh Bachchan mourns Ritu Nanda’s demise in blog post, calls her ‘ideal in-law’

Bollywood’s ‘Shehnshah’, Amitabh Bachchan wrote a heartfelt blog post mourning the demise of Ritu Nanda, the mother-in-law of the veteran actor’s daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda.

In a blog post titled day 4330(i), the thespian wrote a powerful eulogy for late Ritu Nanda.

"An ideal daughter, an ideal sister, an ideal wife, an ideal Mother, an ideal in-law, an ideal Mother-in-Law, and an ideal friend.. has left us for good in a distance we cannot cover.. for now..!!" wrote Big B in his blog.

He further expressed: "The rites are over.. to ashes they have been reduced.. a crowded hall in the home filled with the close-knitted relatives and dear friends, embrace break down, hold hands, hold.."

In one of the lines, Senior Bachchan compared Nanda to ‘a bird building her little nest’ whose voice cannot be heard anymore. “The command the control the authority , suddenly absent ..”, wrote the megastar.

Bachchan ended the blog post on a sombre note, writing “.. the unknown unseen curse of life , known it shall happen, yet the expectation of belief, that it shall never happen to us …”

Ritu Nanda, entrepreneur and daughter of late Bollywood actor and film-maker Raj Kapoor, passed away early on Tuesday in New Delhi after a long battle with cancer. She was 71.
