    Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta to tie the knot on March 9; pre-wedding bash in Switzerland from Feb 23-25

    It's wedding season again for the Ambani clan. Reliance chairperson Mukesh Ambani's oldest son Akash is all set to tie the knot with diamantaire Russell Mehta's daughter Shloka. The couple, who got engaged last year, will take their vows on March 9.
    According to reports, the Ambanis and Mehtas will celebrate the nuptials over a three-day celebration in Mumbai, with the wedding ceremony taking place at Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. The baraat The will reportedly commence from the Trident hotel at 3:30 pm and the wedding ceremony will begin at 7.30 pm.

    The next day will see the families host a Mangal Parv ceremony at the same venue, followed by a reception on March 11.

    Prior to the big day, the families' will host their friends for a three-day pre-wedding at St Moritz in Switzerland. The Swiss town is expected to see over 500 guests as the celebrations begin from February 23 til 25. Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar are expected to be among the B-town celebrities in attendance.

    Akash proposed to childhood friend Shloka Mehta in March last year. The couple celebrated the new beginning surrounded by close family and friends in a private ceremony in Goa. This was followed by a star-studded engagement for the couple at the Ambanis' Mumbai residence Antilia in June.



    Shloka, the middle child of Russell and Mona Mehta studied at Dhirubhai Ambani School before leaving the Maximum City for the USA. The young heiress completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, and went on to do her masters at the London School of Economics, before returning to India in 2014.

    Russell Mehta runs the diamond trading company Rosy Blue, as well as the retail jewellery brand Orra - but after her return, Shloka opted out of the diamond business and rather chose to join the company’s philanthropic arm, Rosy Blue Foundation. Mehta's elder brother, Viraj is married to Nisha Sheth who comes from the Great Eastern Shipping family. Her sister Diya, too, tied the knot with Ayush Jatia, son of Amit Jatia of Hardcastle Restaurants, in 2017.

    The Ambanis ended 2018 with Akash's twin sister Isha tying the knot to Piramal scion, Anand, in what was the biggest wedding of the year. The lavish, star-studded Mumbai wedding and receptions were preceded by a weekend of pre-wedding celebrations in Udaipur that saw the who's who of the world reach the City of Lakes. From Hillary Clinton to India Inc, a concert by Beyonce to B-town shaking a leg - it was quite the bash in Udaipur.
