Akash-Shloka twin in shades of pink; Gautam Gambhir, Kapil Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha among guests

NEW DELHI: The Ambanis and Mehtas hosted a grand reception for their children Akash and Shloka at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. The son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani tied the knot with diamantaire's Russell Mehta's daughter on Saturday at an star-studded, lavish wedding ceremony in the city.
In a picture posted by make-up artist Rakesh Thapa, the newly-wed couple were twinning in shades of pink for the reception. Shloka glowed in a pink lehenga with rich, silver embellishments and diamond jewellery. Ambani Jr looked dapper in a sherwani with forest motif paired with a gold chudidaar.

In the three-day extravaganza that surrounded the high-profile wedding, many world leaders, businessmen, politicians and film stars ensured their presence to bless the couple.

Asia's richest man, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani, with an estimated net worth of about $50 billion, hosted the wedding of his son to diamantaire Russell Mehta's daughter on Saturday. The wedding saw the who's who of the world, from Tony Blair and Ban Ki-moon to Sundar Pichai, Ratan Tata and Amitabh Bachchan, in attendance.

The Mangal Parv on Sunday saw a performance by Nita Ambani on the devotional song 'Achyutam Keshawam Vishwa Damodaram'. There was also a musical fountain show, and a private concert by Grammy-winning band 'Maroon 5'.


Today, the families will host a musical fountain show at the newly-inaugurated Jio World Centre for over 7000 members of India’s armed forces, police and their families.


The Brown alumnus proposed to childhood friend Shloka in March last year, and the couple celebrated the new beginning surrounded by close family and friends in Goa. This was followed by an engagement for the couple at the Ambanis' Mumbai residence.
