Akash, Shloka tie the knot as Ambanis twin in pink; Pichai joins Tata & SRK at wedding

After weeks of pre-wedding festivities, Akash - the son of Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani - tied the knot with diamantaire Russell Mehta's daughter Shloka in an extravagant, star-studded affair at the Jio World Centre.
Shloka turned bride in a red lehenga, while the groom and his family were all dressed in shades pink.


The baraat ceremony took place at the Trident hotel, from where the family proceeded to the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex for the wedding rituals.



The wedding began with Akash and and his family paying respect to his paternal grandfather Dhirubhai Ambani and maternal grandfather Ravindrabhai Dalal.


The 'saafa' tying ceremony saw performances by singers Vishal and Shekhar, and Mika.


Former British PM Tony Blair and wife Cherie Blair, former UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon and wife reached the Maximum City for the wedding. Google CEO Sundar Pichai, steel tycoon LN Mittal, and Ratan Tata also joined the celebrations.




Mukesh Ambani's younger brother Anil arrived with wife Tina and children Anmol and Anshul to bless the couple.


Industrialist Anand Mahindra, actor Aamir Khan with wife Kiran Rao, designer Manish Malhotra, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri were among the guests at the star-studded affair.


Actress Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, who is very close to the family and also had Isha Ambani as one of her bridesmaids, opted for a Tarun Tahiliani saree, as she arrived with her mother and brother.




The venue was converted into a floral extravaganza for the couple's big day.






Meanwhile, the Ambanis' Altamount Road residence 'Antilia' too has been decked up for the wedding.

The families will host a Mangal Parv celebration at the same venue tomorrow, and a reception on March 11.

Akash and Shloka, who attended Dhirubhai Ambani School together, got engaged in June last year. Akash proposed to the Princeton and LSE alumna in March, and the couple celebrated the new beginning surrounded by close family and friends in Goa.
