Azharuddin's son Asad weds Sania Mirza's sister in a traditional ceremony; couple share 'Mr & Mrs' pictures

Former Team India captain and Hyderabad Cricket Association president Mohammad Azharuddin's son Mohammad Asaduddin and Sania Mirza's younger sister Anam tied the knot in a traditional, lavish ceremony, on Wednesday, after days of pre-wedding celebrations.

Anam turned bride in a lilac and gold outfit, and Asad complemented her beige and gold sherwani. The newlyweds took to social media to announce the wedding, sharing pictures from their big day.

Posting a beautiful message, the cricketer wrote, "Finally married the love of my life."

Former model-actress and Azharuddin's ex-wife Sangeeta Bijlani also attended the nuptials, and posed with the newlyweds. The 59-year-old opted for a green salwar-kameez by designer Anita Dongre for the wedding.


The decor for the wedding, held in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills, was all things red and gold. Huge chandeliers and red roses adorned the venue. Several pictures from the ceremony, with the couple's (hashtag) AbBasAnamHi, have started doing the rounds on social media.

Asad, who made a grand entrance riding a horse in his baraat, too, shared multiple pictures on his Instagram Stories.

Sania Mirza was acing the bridesmaid duties, right from their Paris bachelorette to hosting a bridal shower in Hyderabad. The tennis ace's son Izhaan Mirza Malik also won hearts in his adorable traditional outfits, though dad Shoaib Malik seemed to be missing from the celebrations. However, the former Pakistan cricketer, who is in Dhaka - according to his Instagram Story, shared a picture of son Izhaan from the festivities.
