It’s hard being at the top at a time like this. It’s what Aditya Ghosh, board member at Oyo Homes & Hotels calls ‘the burden of leadership.’ You feel responsible for your employees, your customers, your company. How can CEOs keep themselves motivated in such challenging times then? He shares tips:

Stay calm: If you are calm and if you are able to understand that you are not alone, that everyone around the world is going through this, you will stop thinking of yourself as a victim or being lonely at a time like this.

Communicate openly and honestly: Being able to communicate honestly with those around you, your employees, acknowledging your fears and your doubts, communicating openly about those will help tremendously.

“People are intelligent. People are smart. They understand and they may come up with a hundred different ways to solve the problems of the day,” Ghosh said.

Stick to basics: This is not the time to go experimenting with something new. Focus on what’s core to your, your hero product or service.
