Drugs probe: NCB interrogates Simone Khambatta, Shruti Modi; Deepika, Rakulpreet summoned for tomorrow
In a fresh development in the drugs probe by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which began as a result of the investigation into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, 'Padmaavat' actress Deepika Padukone, who has been summoned by the agency on September 25, will leave her Goa residence and reach Mumbai today.

According to a report in Times Now, Padukone has received the permission to charter a plane from Goa at 1:30 pm and is expected to board that flight to Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police has deployed additional security ahead of the 34-year-old actress' visit to the NCB guest house, Times Now quoted sources as saying.

Earlier on Thursday, fashion designer Simone Khambata reached the NCB guest house for first round of interrogation. Her name had cropped up in the questioning of some persons during the NCB probe into the matter.

She reached the NCB guest house at Colaba in south Mumbai around 9.30 am, news agency PTI quoted an official as saying.

Besides Khambata, the NCB has also summoned actress Rakul Preet Singh and talent manager Shruti Modi to appear before the probe team on Thursday, he said.

Earlier, Rakul Preet Singh in her official statement, had claimed that she has "not received the alleged summons either at Mumbai or Hyderabad so far". However, she has now acknowledged the summons, PTI quoted the NCB officials as saying.

Meanwhile, Shruti Modi, Rajput's ex-manager, arrived at the NCB office for questioning on Thursday morning.
