The beard boom is here to stay. Beards have even taken over in the boardroom.

Whether a slight stubble or full facial fuzz, the beard is a man’s new best friend. And it can become an even better friend if you learn how to take care of it. Hitesh Dhingra, Founder and MD, The Man Company, says that every man’s beard is unique and he has to find products that work for him.

Work: When it comes to sporting a beard at your workplace, Dhingra says that you can go long but make sure you’re neat. You should ideally groom it every other day and use a holding product so that it doesn’t look unkempt through the day.

“It’s important to remember that the length of the beard is not a problem as long as it is kept well-trimmed and groomed. Remember to keep your beard well washed and styled. Go for a wax to keep your beard in place. A small beard comb can always go a long way to keep it fixed at all times,” Dhingra says.

Play: A beard can add to your appeal this time of year. But, this festive season, your main aim should be to wear your beard – not the other way around. Dhingra sums it up, “Keep it classic and well nourished.” He adds, “A short stubble or a goatee or even a Van Dyke works well. The key is to choose a style that suits your personality. Keeping your hair nourished and healthy is the most important thing.”
