    Honor launches V40 5G with 50 MP camera; company's first phone since split with Huawei

    Honor, on Friday, launched its latest device, the V40 5G smartphone. Sporting a 6.72-inch Full HD+ screen, the phone has a dual punch-hole design and comes with a 120HZ refresh rate.
    Powered by Dimensity 1000+ chipset, it also boasts of a 4,200mAh battery with support for 66W superfast wired charging. It also supports 50W fast wireless charging.

    A 50-megapixel lens is the primary sensor for the rear camera set-up, that also includes an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro lens, a laser autofocus unit, and an LED flash. For perfect selfies, there's a dual front camera set-up.

    The successor to the V30 series that was launched in 2019, the V40 5G has an in-display fingerprint sensor and comes with Magic UI 4.0, with Android 10 underneath.

    Launched in China, it is priced at 3,599 yuan (approx. Rs 40,500) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

    This is the first launch by the brand since it split from parent company Huawei, in November last year. Struggling to keep its consumer business afloat in the wake of the US sanctions, Chinese conglomerate Huawei had sold off its Honor smartphone business assets to China-based Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co Ltd.
