From time immemorial, we have heard countless stories of our seniors and their valiant quests away from their comforts to build a life for themselves and their loved ones. Millions of people have taken great personal risks and travelled thousands of kilometres in pursuit of a better life.
When it comes to dreams, Mumbai - the bustling hub of business, glamour and glitz - is synonymous with opportunities. Each year, thousands from across the country migrate to the city to realise their dreams. A career in cinema, music, finance, or any other domain, Mumbai welcomes all those who flock to it with grand aspirations.

A young boy’s journey to meet the CEO of Universal Music Group, Devraj Sanyal, has won the internet. The boy’s journey and his commitment to building a dream career seem to have rekindled the admiration for millions like him who go to extraordinary heights to achieve their dreams. The boy’s passion and courage elicited one of the most encouraging and inspiring messages from any CEO.

Sanyal took to LinkedIn to share his joy and admiration for the young boy who boarded a train to Mumbai from Hyderabad just to meet him for a job which the CEO shared on Instagram. The CEO began his post by saying how much he admires hard-working individuals or ‘supercharged hustlers’. He admitted that he would have missed seeing the kid had he not seen his Instagram post.

“I’m a sucker for grade A, prime time, super charged Hustlers. I met one today.. actually I almost didn’t till I saw this kids post on insta and invited him up cos I just had to see the balls on this one Amazingly I wasn’t disappointed and I’m now figuring out how to give him his dream start at Universal Music India,” began the CEO on his LinkedIn post.
    The Unforgettable Journey
The boy, who boarded a train to Mumbai, reached outside Sanyal’s office. And, when he was stopped by the guard, he sent a text on the Insta post. The student said that he was pursuing a Master’s course in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Hyderabad and had travelled all the way to meet the CEO and have a conversation regarding the position. The boy also said that he had even shared a note via a Zomato order and sent his resume and portfolio.

“I love music. So much that I’m even writing a master’s thesis on it. I will be really thankful if we could have a conversation about this. I have so many things to tell you. It was really hard for me to make some time and travel till Mumbai for the very first time amidst final term exams,” he wrote in his comment addressed to the CEO on his Instagram account.

The youth ended his comment by saying that he was right outside the building trying to find ways to meet Sanyal. To this, the CEO responded by saying, ‘Come on up. Make him a visitor’s pass,” on the same post.

The inspirational episode was narrated by Sanyal in his LinkedIn post. He stated that this was no ideal way for anyone trying to connect with him or the company and that he made an exception as he was impressed by the boy’s passion.

“This is by no way a future path for anyone to get to us and this will literally be the only time I’ll allow is cos it just was too passionate for me to ignore and If I did then I’d go against everything I’ve said to you guys all this time,” he wrote in the post.

    Chase Your Dreams
Sanyal ended his post by encouraging all to chase their dreams. He said that he was greatly impressed by the boy and was hoping to work together in a few weeks.

“Chase the dream, follow your path and don’t let anyone stop you. Kid whose name I’ve deliberately erased..:.. you impressed me today and I can’t tell you straight up that doesn’t happen that easily. All the best and I hope we will be working together in a few weeks,” Sanyal concluded his post.
