Young racing driver Kush Maini shares his idols from motorsport and how he learns so much from his older brother.

Indian racer Maini idolises F1 champions Ayrton Senna and Kimi Raikkonen. The 18-year-old is inspired by the Brazilian legend's quote, 'If you no longer go for a gap that exists then you are no longer a racing driver.' At every race, that is what plays in the Bangalore-based lad's mind and pushes him to the limit.

Older brother Arjun is also a motivating force. Arjun Maini who races in F2 Campos Racing recently clinched a win the Asian Le Mans series. "Because of the hectic race calendar, I am living in the UK so I miss my family, friends and home. But to make it in such a competitive sport, you need to make sacrifices and this is one of many. Arjun is there a lot in the UK so that makes up a lot," he told ET Panache.

The two brothers are really close. "We have a good laugh together and always keep in touch. We spend a lot of time in UK together and go out with friends to dinner and the movies," Kush added.

Besides the time they spend together destress from the rigours of the racing world, there is also a lot of lessons. "Arjun constantly helps me improve. It’s very handy as he has been there, done that. I can learn from his mistakes to make sure I don’t make them," he ended.
