Manu Kumar Jain's advice for IIM grads joining Xiaomi: Take risks, have fun at work

NEW DELHI: Xiaomi is not letting the concerns of boycotting Chinese goods in India dampen the company's sentiments.

Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain, on Thursday, took to Twitter to share an update about its new hiring.

In his tweet, the 39-year-old top boss informed that the India team of the smartphone-maker invited over 30 MBA graduates from Indian Institute of Management and other top 10 B-schools.

As the world accepts the new normal in this changed work culture, the tech boss listed out some advice he shared with the new hires.

• Take risks, and do things differently
• Try out various roles
• Treat everyone equal. There is no hierarchy
• And, the most important thing - have lot of fun

The Global VP of Xiaomi also shared a picture of the new graduates who had joined him on a video call.


Last month, anti-China sentiment reached a peak in the country following the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers in a clash with the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Ladakh's Galwan valley on June 15.

Jain had also tweeted that Xiaomi is 'more Indian' than any other smartphone brand in the country. According to the All India Mobile Retailers Association, the company had started its retail store branding with the 'Made in India' logo in white colour fearing the backlash.
