It’s that time of the year again when the temperature is falling, autumn is knocking at our doors and the tech giant Apple is all set to unveil an exciting line-up of high-end products at its much-awaited annual September event.

The rumour mills are running overtime and there’s a lot of speculation online about the products the tech-giant is expected to drop at the event. While the Cupertino-based company has managed to keep almost everything under wraps, barring the name of the event, #TimeFlies, tipsters and insiders have an inkling about what we can expect from the event tonight.

Here’s a comprehensive round-up of all the rumoured products and gadget launches that we can expect to see at the event tonight.

    New iPad Air
According to the website 9to5mac, iPad Air is expected to get a major redesign this year, which will make it look similar to iPad Pro.

It is expected to have an edge-to-edge display without a home button. Instead of a Face ID, the iPad Air is expected to have a Touch ID built into the side button.

The new iPad Air, says Bloomberg, is expected to be the focal point of the September 15 event.

    Apple Watch Series 6
According to a code found in the new iOS14 by the website 9to5mac, the new Apple Watch Series 6 is expected to add a blood oxygen level detector this year.

Apple, as per reports, could also be working to improve the electrocardiogram (ECG) feature in Apple Watch Series 6 as the ECG detector in Series 5 and Series 4 yielded somewhat inconclusive results.

The Apple Watch Series 6 is expected to do away with the Force Touch feature which allows users to firmly press on the device’s display to access additional content and controls, such as changing watch faces or clearing all notifications.

In watchOS 7, Apple deprecated the Force Touch feature, and Apple Watch Series 6 is likely to remove the hardware component of the functionality as well.

Apple Watch Series 6 is expected to have the same design as that of Series 5, however, new finishes, colours and bands are possible.
In a break from tradition, reports from a variety of sources indicate that the iPhone 12 will not be announced during Apple’s September event this year.iStock

    AirPods Studio
Since quite some time, rumours about Apple coming up with over-the-ear headphones have been doing rounds on the Internet. In the leaked iOS14 beta code, 9to5mac has found evidence which suggests that AirPods Studio could be launched as early as this year.

    New Apple TV
It is possible that Apple might launch a new TV along with a new Siri remote at the #TimeFlies event. It is expected that the new Apple TV will have a faster chip for improved performance.

As for the new Apple TV remote, Bloomberg has suggested that one of the upgrades will be support for the Find My application. This will make it easier for people to locate a remote when it goes missing in the house. Whether or not other improvements are also in store for the controversial Siri remote remains to be seen.

    No iPhone 12?
In a break from tradition, reports from a variety of sources indicate that the iPhone 12 will not be announced during Apple’s September event this year. The iPhone 12 has faced delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and Apple itself confirmed in July that this year’s iPhones would arrive “a few weeks” later than the iPhone 11 lineup did last year.

    How to watch the livestream?
Apple’s #TimeFlies event will take place on September 15. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event will be held virtually.

The event starts at 10 AM PDT i.e. 10:30 PM IST and will be streamed live from Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California. You can watch the livestream at 10:30 pm live on Apple.com or on Apple’s official YouTube channel.
