O&G plans to tap into the world of academia in new business environment

“We had a series of conversations with colleges across India with the objective to understand their perspectives on skill development and placements. There are also a number of product and service providers in the academic ecosystem that do not have a central platform to market their offering to colleges. This led to the genesis of a B2B marketplace for the education sector,” said Vivek Dilip, co-founder, O&G Skills.

Realising that the first mover advantage is critical for a concept like this, the company has partnered with an existing player in academia who has access to more than 2,000 colleges and has a line of sight to onboard 10,000 more.

“We are putting all our efforts towards demonstrating the proof-ofconcept in the south Indian market. Once done, we believe that an online platform as the anchor would help in scaling it up across India. We would also consider a spin-off at that juncture to ensure that the business realises its full potential,” said Sanjit Biswas, co-founder, O&G Skills.
