Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty granted bail in drugs case 2 months after arrest
In a fresh development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, actress Rhea Chakraborty's brother, Showik Chakraborty, has been granted bail nearly 3 months after his arrest.

The development comes after Showik's sister and Rajput's live-in partner Rhea was granted bail by the Bombay High Court in October, nearly a month after her arrest.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had been investigating the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The agency had booked Rhea and Showik under stringent section 27(A) of the NDPS Act for not disclosing about Rajput's habit of drug consumption, which, as per the Act, amounts to 'harbouring' an offender.

The events leading up to the arrests of the two were equally dramatic, with the NCB teams reaching the Chakraborty residence in Santacruz West and Miranda’s house in Andheri West early as 6.30 am on September 4. A couple of hours later, they were at the NCB’s south Mumbai office where they were confronted with the information provided by two alleged drug peddlers Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar.
