Riding high on Hrithik-Tiger star-power, 'War' zooms past Rs 200 crore-mark in opening week

Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's 'War' has taken the box office by storm, raking in Rs 216.65 crore in just a week since its release.
The film, that also stars Vaani Kapoor, had entered the Rs 100 crore club on its third day.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the movie's numbers on Twitter.




According to news agency IANS, the film's director Siddharth Anand called it 'a hugely incredible moment'.

He was also reported by the agency as saying, "We are deeply humbled by the love of audiences and are truly grateful for their adulation. We wanted to give India it's biggest action spectacle and we are proud to have achieved that. People have appreciated our vision to create something new and have showered so much love on War. It is the incredible word of mouth that has made War a must watch film this festive season and we couldn't be more thankful."

Produced by Yash Raj Films, the action-thriller released in 4200 screens and earned over Rs 50 crore on day 1.
