Several big tech giants, the likes of Google and Amazon have experimented with IoT (Internet of Things) technology and have brought about a revolution in the way we view our living spaces. It turns out, Japanese electronics corporation Panasonic is all set to step into the world of smart connected homes. On Thursday, Panasonic India launched its IoT and AI enabled connected living platform, called MirAIe.
‘Mirai’ means future and ‘ie’ means home in Japanese. MirAIe allows users to access all Panasonic devices in one place. What’s more? MirAIe also comes with an-built intelligent diagnostics tool that can detect performance issues in advance and potentially increase the lifespan of products.

    Alexa, turn on the AC
The best part about MirAIe is that it can work in tandem with Google’s Home and Amazon’s Alexa, allowing users to control their smart devices with voice commands. Be it turning on the washing machine or opening the blinds, voice-enabled smart assistants can work in perfect harmony with MirAIe.

    Warranty woes sorted
Another path breaking feature of MirAIe is that it offers e-warranty where all the warranty information and maintenance contracts of the products are digitally stored and you are notified if there’s a change in them.

MirAIe recognizes usage patterns and suggests optimal modes to increase comfort of the users. For instance, the connected AC and fan come with a unique feature called customized sleep mode, which allows users to pre-set temperatures throughout the night for maximum comfort.

Speaking at the launch, the President & CEO of Panasonic India, Mr Manish Sharma, spoke about the future of smart and connected India given the advent of 5G and IoT. “Consumers are now looking towards IoT & AI enabled solutions to enhance quality of life through connected ecosystems – as per our research over 75% are looking for specific requirements related to ease of use; safety; monitoring misuse; service reminders; personalize usage pattern. Through the launch of our Miraie platform, we aim to address all of the above and extend connected living in a true sense and further our vision of a better life, a better world.”

Panasonic also unveiled its first range of connected products that will be available in the Indian market under Miraie, which includes Connected Air Conditioners, Smart DoorBell and Plugs & Switches. In near future, the company plans to expand its Connected range of products by adding refrigerator, washing machine, television, fans, geysers, etc giving consumers a full range of Connected Living Solutions for a futuristic home.
