Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide is under investigation by the Mumbai police. In a new development, according to Times Now, film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actress Kangana Ranaut and film director Shekhar Kapur will be questioned by Mumbai police in connection with Rajput’s death.

While Bhansali is likely to be summoned soon, Ranaut and Kapur will also be interrogated by the police. According to a report in the Times of India, Bhansali and Rajput shared mutual admiration for each other’s work and working together was on cards for the two of them, not once, but four times. However, due to the date clashes, nothing materialised.

Ranaut, on the other hand, has been quite vocal about Bollywood not giving the ‘Kedarnath’ actor his due and has accused industry bigwigs of abetment to suicide.

Kapur, too, sent out a tweet post Rajput’s demise, sharing that he knew the story about those who disappointed the late actor. ‘What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours,’ Kapur wrote in his tweet.

Previously, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh shared on Twitter that the Mumbai Police will also probe the 'professional rivalry' angle.

The late actor’s close friends - actress Rhea Chakraborty, Mahesh Shetty and several others have already recorded their statements with the Mumbai Police.

Known for films like 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' and 'Kedarnath', Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra home on June 14. Initial reports suggested that the actor had allegedly died of suicide. No suicide note was found in Rajput’s apartment. His post-mortem report said that he had died of asphyxiation.

The actor was cremated at the Vile Parle crematorium on June 15.

Clarification: The earlier version of this copy erroneously mentioned Pawan Hans crematorium. Pawan Hans Limited has clarified that Pawan Hans is their registered Trademark and it has nothing to do with the Vile Parle crematorium.
