    Sushant Singh Rajput's demise leaves B-town, cricket world in shock; Shashi Tharoor, Neiphiu Rio recall his aid during calamities

    Sushant Singh Rajput death: Bollywood fraternity expresses shock and mourns actor's untimely demise
    Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, on Monday, died by suicide, Mumbai Police confirmed. The 34-year-old 'Kai Po Che' actor was reportedly found hanging in his Bandra home in Mumbai.
    While the reason is not yet known, Mumbai Police said that investigation is underway.

    Meanwhile the tragic news left the film and TV industry in shock, many of who took to social media to express grief.

    Akshay Kumar said the news left him shocked, and recalled having watched the actor in 'Chhichhore'.

    "Honestly this news has left me shocked and speechless...I remember watching #SushantSinghRajput in Chhichhore and telling my friend Sajid, its producer how much I’d enjoyed the film and wish I’d been a part of it. Such a talented actor...may God give strength to his family," Kumar tweeted.

    'The Lunchbox' actor Nimrat Kaur also expressed shock at the "deeply tragic" news, saying, "Absolutely gutted and heartbroken for Sushant and his loved ones and family. Really can’t believe his journey’s ended on this untimely, devastating note.Praying for his soul...gone so soon.Yet another horrendous jolt for our industry. So deeply tragic.."


    Anupam Kher posted a broken heart emoji, with a question, 'Why Sushant, why?'


    Sonu Sood said he was shocked and heartbroken at the news.


    Not just Bollywood, sports stars and politicians also took to social media to offer condolences.

    Cricketer Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter to say that one can't know what someone is going through. "Life is fragile and we don’t know what one is going through. Be kind. #SushantSinghRajput Om Shanti," he tweeted.



    Team India coach Ravi Shastri posted a picture of the actor with former skipper MS Dhoni, saying, "A life brimming with promise and possibilities ended abruptly."

    Rajput had portrayed Dhoni in the film based on the cricketer's life.



    Aam Aadmi Party also offered condolences in a tweet on it's official handle.


    Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to the micro-blogging site to express his anguish about Rajput's untimely demise. He said that the actor will always be remembered for his contribution to the Indian cinema.


    Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio remembered Rajput's contribution towards relief work in that state during the 2018 floods and landslides. The CM, in a tweet, said that his love & generous contribution to the people of Nagaland will always be remembered.


    Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor also recalled the 'kind-hearted' actor, and shed light on his contribution of Rs 1.25 crore to the CM's relief fund during the Kerala floods.
