‘We salute our police forces’: Rishi Kapoor, Saina Nehwal, Anupam Kher laud cops for Hyderabad encounter

A week after the brutal rape and killing of a 26-year-old Telangana-based vet that left the nation in a state of anger and outrage, the four accused were killed in an alleged encounter by the Telangana police near Shadnagar town in the wee hours of Friday.
Following the news of the encounter, the hashtags Encounter and Hyderabad Police started trending on Twitter with polarised reactions pouring in on the microblogging site. While many appreciated the Telangana police, some argued in favour of a fair trial.

Bollywood and sports stars also joined the conversation on Twitter, and lauded the move by the police force.

Veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Anupam Kher lauded the move and congratulated the Telangana police.




Olympic athlete and badminton player Saina Nehwal, too, tweeted, saying, “Great work #hyderabadpolice ..we salute u 🙏.”


Actor Dino Morea, Ranvir Shorey and Rangoli Chandel penned tweets honouring the valour of the Hyderabad police.
