RBI allows linking of FASTag accounts with UPI, mobile wallets

MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India on Monday said that it’ll allow customers to link their FASTag accounts with all authorised modes of payments and instruments including UPI accounts and mobile wallets in a bid to facilitate ease in recharging these accounts and faster resolution of failed transactions.

“In order to further broad base this system by allowing more payment choices for the customers, as well as for fostering competition among the system participants, all authorised payment systems …shall from now be permitted for linking with the FASTags,” RBI said in a press release.
