Share market update: IT shares in the green; HCL Tech surges 9%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading with gains in Tuesday's session.

Shares of HCL Technologies (up​ 9.07 per cent)​, Infosys (up​ 6.81 per cent)​, Wipro (up​ 6.11 per cent)​, Info Edge (India) (up​ 5.14 per cent)​, Tata Consultancy (up​ 5.07 per cent)​, NIIT Technologies (up​ 4.83 per cent)​, Just Dial (up​ 4.01 per cent)​, Mindtree (up​ 3.94 per cent)​ and Tech Mahindra (up​ 3.19 per cent)​ were among the top gainers.

The Nifty IT index was trading 5.8 per cent up at 12357.65 around 11:56 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 437.65 points at 8521.45 , while the BSE Sensex was up 1508.67 points at 29099.62 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 were trading in the green, while 2 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, JSPL, SBI, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, NTPC, Axis Bank, Ashok Leyland, SAIL and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
