Share market update: IT shares in the green; NIIT Tech up 4%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the green in Thursday's session.

Shares of NIIT Technologies (up 4.12 per cent) , Infosys (up 3.44 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (up 2.69 per cent) , Mindtree (up 2.2 per cent) , Wipro (up 2.05 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 1.78 per cent) , HCL Technologies (up 1.68 per cent) and Info Edge (India) (up 1.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Just Dial (down 2.61 per cent) and MPhasis (down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 2.34 per cent up at 15076.85 around 11:50AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 98.25 points at 10528.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 350.71 points at 35765.16.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, RBL Bank Ltd., Bank of Baroda and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
