Share market update: Metal shares shine; JSPL rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with gains in Friday's morning session.

Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (up 1.76 per cent) , Hindustan Copper (up 1.54 per cent) , Vedanta (up 0.97 per cent) and Tata Steel (up 0.88 per cent) were trading with gains.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 0.69 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (up 0.61 per cent) , MOIL (up 0.56 per cent) and APL Apollo Tubes (up 0.54 per cent) too were trading higher.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.37 per cent up at 2479.50 around 10:52 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 33.10 points at 11,935.30, while the BSE Sensex was down 118.15 points at 40,457.02.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ZEEL, NCC, SAIL, SBI, Infosys, GMR Infra and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
