Share market update: Midcap stocks rise; Honeywell Automation soars 11%

NEW DELHI: Midcap stocks were trading higher on Friday's afternoon session.

Shares of Honeywell Automation India (up 11.48 per cent), Bayer CropScience (up 9.85 per cent), JSW Energy (up 7.89 per cent), RBL Bank (up 6.98 per cent) and Tata Consumer Products (up 6.61 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While AU Small Finance Bank (down 3.67 per cent), Biocon (down 2.6 per cent), Rajesh Exports (down 2.41 per cent), Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail (down 2.06 per cent) and Edelweiss Financial Services (down 1.92 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 1.28 per cent up at 14195.78 around 01:54PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 9.90 points at 11190.25, while the BSE Sensex was 57.44 points at 37968.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, Axis Bank and Bandhan Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
