Share market update: Power shares up; Tata Power climbs 10%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Power index was down in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Tata Power Company (up​ 9.93 per cent)​, ABB India Ltd (up​ 5.87 per cent)​, Adani Power (up​ 5.61 per cent)​, Siemens (up​ 5.36 per cent)​, Reliance Infrastructure (up​ 4.94 per cent)​, NHPC (up​ 4.53 per cent)​, GMR Infrastructure (up​ 4.39 per cent)​, Torrent Power (up​ 4.19 per cent)​, Bharat Heavy Electricals (up​ 3.39 per cent)​, NTPC (up​ 2.45 per cent)​, Adani Transmissions (up​ 2.08 per cent)​, Thermax (up​ 1.91 per cent)​ and Power Grid Corporation of India (up​ 1.22 per cent)​ were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE Power index was trading 2.97 per cent up at 1370.68 around 01:43 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 578.60 points at 8662.4 , while the BSE Sensex was up 2017.41 points at 29608.36 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 were trading in the green, while 2 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, YES Bank, SAIL, JSPL, ICICI Bank, RBL Bank Ltd., ITC, Tata Motors and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
