Share market update: PSU bank shares rise; J & K Bank jumps 10%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with gains in Tuesday's session.
Shares of J & K Bank (up 10.36 per cent), State Bank of India (up 4.22 per cent), Punjab & Sind Bank (up 3.21 per cent), Canara Bank (up 3.09 per cent), Indian Bank (up 2.23 per cent), Union Bank of India (up 1.92 per cent), Bank of India (up 1.69 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (up 1.69 per cent), UCO Bank (up 1.1 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.01 per cent) and Central Bank of India (up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 2.02 per cent up at 1257.25 around 01:26 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 550.15 points at 8633.95 , while the BSE Sensex was up 1900.84 points at 29491.79 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 were trading in the green, while 2 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, ICICI Bank, NTPC, JSPL, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta and RBL Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
