Share market update: PSU bank shares rise; SBI up over 1%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading higher in Thursday's session.

Shares of J & K Bank (up 4.94 per cent) , Bank of Maharashtra (up 1.35 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 1.17 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 1.08 per cent) , Indian Overseas Bank (up 0.86 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 0.69 per cent) , Indian Bank (up 0.61 per cent) , Bank of India (up 0.2 per cent) and Union Bank of India (up 0.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.7 per cent up at 1490.05 around 02:10PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 156.65 points at 10586.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 565.24 points at 35979.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, SBI, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Ashok Leyland and RBL Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
