Share market update: Telecom shares advance; OnMobile Global zooms 20%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading with gains in Tuesday's session.

Shares of OnMobile Global (up 19.99 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 9.03 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up 4.92 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 4.72 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 4.41 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 4.17 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 3.64 per cent), HFCL Ltd (up 3.19 per cent), Vodafone Idea (up 2.54 per cent), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 2.46 per cent), ITI (up 2.16 per cent), Optiemus Infracom (up 1.93 per cent) and Tejas Network (up 1.9 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 7.89 per cent up at 1012.74 around 01:49 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 587.40 points at 8671.2 , while the BSE Sensex was up 2032.67 points at 29623.62 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 were trading in the green, while 2 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, YES Bank, SAIL, ICICI Bank, JSPL, RBL Bank Ltd., ITC, Tata Motors and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
