Stock market update: Auto stocks mixed; Eicher Motors gains 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading on a mixed note at 01:24PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Bharat Forge (up 2.11 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 1.99 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.26 per cent), MRF (up 0.7 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 0.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While TVS Motor Company (down 2.01 per cent), Bosch (down 1.33 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 1.18 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 0.79 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 0.74 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.06 per cent down at 8097.3 around 01:24PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 6.10 points at 11937.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 1.74 points at 40592.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vedanta , Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of L&T Technology Services Ltd., HCL Tech, JK Cement, Ambuja Cements and Hathway Cable hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain Solutions Ltd., Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd., Innovana Thinklabs Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd., Dharani Sugars & Chemicals Ltd., SKIL Infrastructure Ltd., Coal India Ltd., Khandwala Securities Ltd. and Maheshwari Logistics Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
