Stock market update: Bank stocks fall; ICICI Bank loses 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a negative note at 12:08PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of ICICI Bank (down 2.27 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 1.6 per cent), RBL Bank (down 1.47 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.32 per cent) and State Bank of India (down 0.99 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While HDFC Bank (up 0.42 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.21 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.86 per cent down at 23669.55 around 12:08PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 3.85 points at 11538.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 45.02 points at 39041.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Zee Ent. and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tata Consumer Products, Adani Green Energy Ltd., Hathway Cable, Tube Investments of India Ltd. and AstraZeneca hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Aaron Industries Ltd., Kuantum Papers Ltd. and Twentyfirst Century Management Services Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
