Stock market update: Bank stocks fall; RBL Bank down 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a negative note at 12:48PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of RBL Bank (down 1.9 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 1.18 per cent), Bandhan Bank (down 1.13 per cent), IDFC Bank (down 0.7 per cent) and Federal Bank (down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Axis Bank (up 1.38 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.28 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 1.22 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.02 per cent down at 29190.8 around 12:48PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 0.50 points at 12857.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 0.59 points at 43828.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, BHEL and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of India Cements, Tanla Solutions, ICICI Lombard, EID Parry and Dixon Tech hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Jump Networks Ltd., Standard Industries Ltd., Sona Hi Sona Jewellers (Gujarat) Ltd. and Jiya Eco Products Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
