Stock market update: BSE MidCap index sheds 1%; Future retails dips 5%

NEW DELHI: BSE MidCap index was trading with losses at 02:56PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of PNB Housing Finance (up 3.93 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 3.38 per cent), Shriram City Union Finance (up 2.63 per cent), Endurance Techno (up 2.29 per cent) and Whirlpool of India (up 1.87 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Jindal Steel & Power (down 5.04 per cent), Future Retail (down 4.96 per cent), Steel Authority of India (down 4.46 per cent), IDFC First Bank (down 4.41 per cent) and National Aluminium Company (down 4.14 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 1.23 per cent down at 14520.63 around 02:56PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 14.60 points at 11340.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 36.92 points at 38454.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors and Tata Motors (DVR) were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd., IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., HCL Tech, Adani Green Energy Ltd. and Amber Enterprises India Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade.
