Stock market update: Cement stocks mixed; Burnpur Cement tumbles 5%

NEW DELHI: Cement stocks were trading on a mixed note in Friday's afternoon session.

Shares of Andhra Cements (up 4.05 per cent), Udaipur Cement Works Ltd (up 2.84 per cent), Dalmia Bharat (up 2.13 per cent), APCL (up 1.50 per cent) and NCL Industries (up 1.29 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Burnpur Cement (down 5.00 per cent), Shiva Cement (down 2.42 per cent), Gujarat Sidhee Cement (down 2.34 per cent), Deccan Cements (down 1.88 per cent) and Orient Cement Ltd (down 1.84 per cent) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 26.95 points down at 11,941.45, while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 94.21 points at 40,480.96 at around 11:06 am.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises (up 3.13 per cent), ITC (up 2.46 per cent), YES Bank (up 2.26 per cent), NTPC (up 2.04 per cent) and Vedanta (up 1.80 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharti Infratel (down 5.33 per cent), Infosys (down 2.94 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 2.39 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 1.99 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (down 1.80 per cent) were trading in the red.
