Stock market update: Nifty Bank index slips 1%; HDFC Bank sheds 2%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Bank index was trading with losses at 01:10PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of HDFC Bank (down 1.97 per cent), Federal Bank (down 1.86 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 1.72 per cent), State Bank of India (down 1.69 per cent) and RBL Bank (down 1.42 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While IndusInd Bank (up 1.0 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.98 per cent) and Bandhan Bank (up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.17 per cent down at 29402.4 around 01:10PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 15.45 points at 12922.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 70.44 points at 44109.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, BHEL and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tata Chemicals, Tata Steel (PP), Tanla Solutions, Redington and Lakshmi Machine hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Jump Networks Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd., SKIL Infrastructure Ltd., Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd., Silver Touch Technologies Ltd., Shri Ram Switchgears Ltd. and Deep Energy Resources Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
