    Stocks in focus: Marico, Adani Ports, ITC, Lupin, SBI Life, NIIT Tech and Varun Beverages

    Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 112.75 points or 1.22 per cent higher at 9,371.50, indicating a positive start for Dalal Street. Here are a few stocks that may buzz the most in Tuesday’s trade:

    Adani Ports, SBI Life: Varun Beverages, NIIT Tech, Tata Coffee, Persistent Systems, Adani Ports, SBI Life, Rallis India and Elantas Beck are among companies which will announce March quarter results today.

    Marico: After market hours on Monday, FMCG major Marico posted 51.12 per cent year-on-year (YoY) fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 194 crore for the quarter ended March 2019. It had posted a net profit of Rs 399 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

    Axis Bank: Two senior executives at Axis Bank’s retail vertical have quit to join Piramal Group’s non-banking finance venture, said industry sources.

    CONCOR:
    Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) on Monday said it is surrendering its 15 terminals with a turnover of Rs 277.50 crore to railways due to "commercial and business viability considerations". These terminals, spread across various states, have 'net block' worth Rs 64.84 crore, the company said.

    ITC: Consumer goods giant ITC has warned some workers of disciplinary action and pay cuts for missing work during the coronavirus epidemic, leading to a showdown with at least two unions, a Reuters report said.

    Abbott India: Global healthcare major Abbott Laboratories said it has received CE mark for its laboratory-based serology blood tests for Covid-19 and these tests will be available in India by the end of May.

    Reliance Industries: Moody's Investors Service on Monday said Reliance Industries' Rs 53,100 crore rights issue is credit positive as earnings will decline because of economic shutdowns.

    NTPC: Construction activities of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project in Telangana resumed on Monday after the Peddapalli District Administration gave permission to NTPCfollowing the guidelines issued by the Centre.

    Lupin: Lupin’s US unit announced positive top-line results from its pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial to assess efficacy and safety of single-dose Solosec oral granules in 147 female patients with trichomoniasis.

    Graphite India: Graphite India said it has started partial operations at its Graphite Electrode plant in Durgapur, Impervious Graphite Equipment plant in Ambad and GRP plant in Gonde, engaging the permitted minimum manpower.

    Manappuram Finance: The NBFC said it will raise up to Rs 500 crore by issuing debt securities. The financial resources and management committee of the board of directors will consider the proposed allotment on May 8, 2020.

    Uttam Galva Steels: Uttam Galva Steels has resumed partial operations at the plants located at Taluka Khalapur in Maharashtra.

    ICICI Lombard: CLSA has maintained buy rating on ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co and rolled forward target price to Rs 1,560 from Rs 1,500.

    Alembic Pharma:
    Drug firm Alembic Pharmaceuticals said the US health regulator has classified inspection of its Panelav manufacturing facility in Gujarat as voluntary action indicated (VAI).

    Adani Green Energy: The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 55.64 crore for the March 2020 quarter, helped by lower expenses. The company plans to invest Rs 10,000 crore in capital expenditure in the financial year 2020-21, but expects project execution to be delayed on account of the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    NBFC stocks: The Reserve Bank of India is said to be taking steps to make the targeted long term repo operation (TLTRO) more effective to boost liquidity for non-bank lenders, with the first tranche of the liquidity-enhancement exercise failing to yield the desired result.

    UPL: Antique Stock Broking has maintained buy rating on UPL and revised target price to Rs 610 from Rs 520.

    SBI: State Bank of India will keep its headquarters in Mumbai closed for a day to sanitise the building, after two employees tested positive for Covid-19, two people familiar with the matter said

    Tata Steel:
    CEO and Managing Director T V Narendran has stepped down as President of the Indian Steel Association (ISA) months before the end of his term, according to the steelmaker.
