    Singapore trading sets stage for a tepid start
    Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange were trading 21.20 points, or 0.20 per cent, lower at 10,890, indicating a negative start for the Nifty50.

    Nifty forms High Wave candle
    The High Wave candle suggested a tug of war, as dips got bought into and hurdles were intact at higher levels, said Chandan Taparia, Motilal Oswal Financial Services. The 10,985-90 range may prove a strong resistance for Nifty in the coming days. On the flip side, the 10,820 level may offer some support, experts said.

    Asian stocks unchanged
    Asia stocks were barely moved on Monday, staying near a four-month high after Wall Street’s tepid pre-weekend performance, while the dollar was supported against the yen following strong US jobs and manufacturing data. Japan’s Nikkei added 0.4 per cent

    China markets shut on Lunar Year holiday
    China’s financial markets are closed all week for the Lunar New Year holiday. Markets across Korea and Taiwan too are shut for the day.

    Dow Jones gained on Friday
    The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.26 per cent to end the week at 25,063.89 points, while the S&P500 index edged 0.09 per cent higher to 2,706.53. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.25 per cent to 7,263.87, Reuters reported.

    IDBI Bank, GSK Pharma to report Q3 results
    IDBI Bank, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, SPARC, Whirlpool of India, IRB Infra, Aban Offshore, Aditya Birla Fashion, Godrej Agrovet, GSK Pharma, Novartis India, Future Retail, Balrampur Chini, Welspun India, Reliance Naval are among companies set to announce their December quarter results on Monday.

    Xelpmoc Design and Tech to list on bourses today
    Shares of Xelpmoc Design and Tech, a professional and technical consulting services company, will list on the bourses on February 4, Monday. This will be the first main-board IPO for the year. The public offer, which was opened for subscription from January 23 to January 25, was oversubscribed 3.25 times.

    RBI unlikely to cut repo rate this week.
    About a third of the 25 participants in the exclusive ET survey on interest rates believe the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India could slash rates by 25 basis points on February 7 itself, but the rest of the participants are betting that Mint Road experts would hit the ‘pause’ button this time.

    Care cuts DHFL’s rating
    Rating company CARE Sunday reduced by a notch the creditworthiness of about Rs 1.2 lakh crore of outstanding securities at home financier Dewan Housing Finance (DHFL), pointing to higher funding costs for para banks that have been buffeted by a series of defaults at infrastructure financier IL&FS.

    CS sees pressure on debt MF flows
    Credit Suisse believes that debt mutual funds could see a second wave of risk aversion in three months and volatility in flows because of their exposure to Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL), the home financier whose stock has plunged recently.

    FIIs buy Rs 1,316 crore worth of equities
    Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought Rs 1,316 crore worth of domestic stocks on Friday, data available with NSE suggested. DIIs were net sellers to the tune of Rs 5 crore, data suggested.
