I am investing in HDFC Equity Fund. The scheme has been down for the last 2 to 3 weeks. Should I stop investing in the scheme?

Tarun Birani, Founder and CEO, TBNG Capital Advisors, responds:

A short-term underperformance of an equity scheme should not bother you. You should invest in equity mutual funds with an investment horizon of more than five years. You should review your equity investments after three years. I would ask you to align your investment with your long-term financial goals.
