Kaya Sensex nil ho jayega? (Will Sensex become zero?) Should I sell all my mutual fund investments?
    -Mithun Mondal

It is true that the stock market has witnessed a sharp fall in the last few weeks due to the Coronavirus pandemic across the globe. S&P BSE Sensex, one of the most watched benchmark in India, fell almost 35% in two weeks. However, this doesn't mean that the stock market is going to fall forever. For example, the market closed higher yesterday and it opened marginally higher today. This doesn't mean that it may rise every day. The point is we do not know how it would behave in the coming days because we do not know how the pandemic situation is going to unravel around the world.

It may sound a bit odd to hear the often-repeated sentence that you would find volatility in the market when you are investing for a very long time. But it true. You should be prepared for it. True, we have never faced an uncertain situation like the current one earlier. However, it doesn't mean that the world would not succeed in dealing with the current crisis or it would not find a medicine to deal with the virus. Do not lose hope and confidence. Focus on your long-term goals and continue with your investments and hope for the best.
