    Hitachi Vantara appoints Gajen Kandiah as CEO

    Synopsis

    Kandiah has spent 15 years in information technology services company Cognizant prior to this. He served as senior vice president and general manager of Cognizant’s information, media and entertainment; manufacturing logistics; consumer goods; and communications industry practices. Before that, he co-founded NerveWire, a management consulting and systems integration firm, which was later acquired by Wipro.

    NEW DELHI: Digital technology company Hitachi Vantara today said in a press release that its board of directors appointed Gajen Kandiah as chief executive. Toshiaki Tokunaga, who is currently both CEO and chairman of the board, will handover responsibilities to Kandiah on October 1, 2020, after which Tokunaga will remain as chairman.

    Tokunaga said about the development, “Thanks to strong internal development, strategic acquisitions, and the integration with Hitachi Consulting, we have added the capabilities we need to guide our customers from what’s now to what’s next. Gajen Kandiah has an impressive track record in rapidly scaling digital businesses.
