    Haryana Exit Polls: Landslide win predicted for BJP in Haryana with 68-72 seats

    The projected performance by the BJP in Haryana is much better than the previous elections in 2014, when the party for the first time formed a government in the state by bagging 47 seats with a vote share of 33.2 per cent.

    The ruling BJP is all set for a landslide victory in Haryana, with IANS-CVoter Exit Poll predicting 68-76 seats for the saffron party in the 90-member Assembly. A total of 1,168 candidates are contesting for 90 seats spread across four main belts of Haryana .
    The Congress is way behind as it is projected to manage only between 3 and 12 seats. Others may get between 5 and 14 seats, the exit poll shows.

    In the last Assembly elections, the Congress had got 15 seats with a vote share of 20.6 per cent.

    The main issues that emerged during the political campaign were related to farmers, unemployment, drugs, scarcity of water, power, basic amenities, caste divide, abrogation of Article 370, economic slowdown, nationalism, crimes against women, loan waiver and social security pensions.

    In 2014, BJP propelled to power by a dramatic surge in vote share that saw its tally zooming from 4 to 47 in the 90-member House in the backdrop of a Modi wave. BJP's vote share rocketed to 33.2 per cent from a meagre 9.05 per cent in 2009. It had been earlier playing second fiddle to the regional parties in Haryana, including INLD that had finished second.
