    Centre announces new smart city list: Check if your city is in

    45 cities contested for the 40 available smart city slots but only 30 were selected to ensure their feasibility and workable plans, said Venkaiah Naidu.

    NEW DELHI: Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today released a new list of 30 new cities selected under the third round of the Smart City Mission. The latest announcement takes to 90 the number of cities selected for part-financing by the Centre under this scheme.
    "45 cities contested for the 40 available smart city slots but only 30 were selected to ensure their feasibility and workable plans," said Venkaiah Naidu.

    Here is the list of 30 selected cities:

    1. Thiruvananthapuram
    2. Naya Raipur
    3. Rajkot
    4. ​Amravati
    5. Patna
    6. Karimnagar
    7. Muzaffarpur
    8. Puducherry
    9. Gandhinagar
    10. Srinagar
    11. Sagar

    12. Karnal
    13. Satna
    14. Bengaluru
    15. Shimla
    16. Dehradun
    17. Tiruppur
    18. Pimpri Chinchwad
    19. Bilaspur
    20. Pasighat
    21. Jammu
    22. Dahod
    23. Tirunelveli
    24. Thoothukudi
    25. Tiruchirapalli
    26. Jhansi
    27. Aizwal
    28. Aligarh
    29. Allahabad
    30. Gangtok

    Under the Smart City Mission, the Centre provides Rs 500 crore to each city over a period of five years for implementing various projects.
